Mauritian endangered bird finds new home 12 May 2016
In 1995, only 9 echo parakeets, a type of parrot found in Mauritius, were left in the world, and considered critically endangered. "Walls of mangroves" to protect the Haitian coasts 12 May 2016
The Acul Bay combines coastline with a fertile farmland. Mangrove absence in the coastline negatively used to effect farmland as strong winds and salt spray from the sea resulted in lower yields and even destruction of the harvest.
