Won by Consejo para el Desarrollo de Fondo Grande for the effort of the local community to a clean production with the protection and restoration of natural resources

2011 - Community Development

Won by Junta Campesina Rafael Fernandez Dominguez for the support to the local community to implement sustainable livelihood and restoration of the organic coffee plantation.

2011 - ATABEY Environmental Awards. Category Sustainable Tourism

Asociacion para el Deasrrollo de la Provincia Espaíllat ADEPE), for the innovation and entrepreneurship, together with the communities to take advantage of rural tourism, through the Sereno de la Montaña Initiative.

2011 - ATABEY Environmental Awards. Category Renewable Energy

Paso de Perra Micro Hydro Electric Committee, by the sustainable management of micro hydropower system that provides electricity service 24 hours 7 days electricity to 200 families in the upper basin of the Rio Yaque del Norte with a clean energy source.

2011 - ATABEY Environmental Awards. Category Local Development

Association de Caficultores La Esperanaza (ASOCAES), for their efforts in developing local business, based on organic coffee production on the Upper Rio Nizao.

Federación Campesina Hacia el Progreso (FCHP) by it work in organizing local communities,e training and development of sustainable production alternatives associated with the protection of the upper basin of the Yuna River.

Grupo Jaragua for it career in information generation, ecosystem conservation and endemic species in the country with the participation of the local community.

2010 - Ford Motor Company Conservation Award

Won by JUNACAS (Junta de Asociaciones Campesinas de Salcedo) for the effort of the local community to implement system of organic cocoa production.

2010 - Brugal Cree en su Gente, Local Development, Category

In the Category Local Development, the price was earned by JUNACAS (Junta de Asocaciones Campesinas de Salcedo). With the support of the GEF/SGP, this NGO is being financed in an innovative project for organic cocoa production. They received a Cash award by US$30,000.00

2010 - Brugal Cree en su Gente, Defense and Environmental Protection Category

In the Category of Defense and Environmental Protection, ASADA (Asociación de Agricultores de los Dajaos ) was awarded with the first place with a cash contribution of US$30,000.00. The GEF/SGP is working with this CBO in project for renewable energy use (Micro Hydro Power).

2010 - Atabey Sustainable Ecotourism Award

Won by Complejo Ecoturístico Sonido del Yaque Development o a ecotourism Enterprise managed by women with a Strong commitment with natural resource conservation.

2010 - Atabey Renewable Energy Award

Won by Consejo para el Desarrollo de Fondo Grande for the installation of community micro Hydro Power in Fondo Grande.

 

2009 - Brugal Cree en su Gente Award In Defense and Enviromental protection

The action launched for reef check protection and lobster production in Las Caletas National Park.

2009 - Atabey Sustainable Ecotourism Award

Won by Grupo de Guia Ecoturisticos Damajagua for the de development of a system of co-management in the 27 Charco Natural Monument to with participation of local community through a ecotourism micro enterprise.

2001 - Ford Motor Company National Conservation and Environment Award

Won by Consejo Comunitario El Limón y Asociación Para el Dearrollo de San José de Ocoa for Community Hydropower and El Limón Electrification.
