Country Impact

National and Local Level Impact:

  • SGP Seychelles was launched in 2009 and since then has funded 10 projects which are all currently under implementation.

  • Slowly the programme is gaining momentum and is being recognised by Government as a mechanism for small community projects.

  • 2 projects are directly working to influence national policies in recognising trainees of glass recycling as viable training worthy of government assistance; and piloting fisheries co-management which is a first for Seychelles.

SGP impact in figures:

  • 15 significant species protected
