Engaging People in Conservation: Biodiversity Monitoring in Fraser's Hill.
The objective of this planning grant is for further consultations with the local community and other stakeholders to explore possible collaborative efforts for the continuing sustainability and conservation of the fragile biodiversity of Fraser’s Hill and conduct activities to mitigate biodiversity loss through over-harvesting and illegal collection of flora and fauna species endemic to Fraser’s Hill to obtain baseline data to allow for appropriate measures to determine species under threat. Public awareness programs on the importance of conserving the biodiversity of Fraser’s Hill would be an integral part of the project targeted at the public and tourists, while building the capacity of the local community to protect their unique environment through possible monitoring programs.
