The aim of this planning grant is to design a proposal to do a WMA in the Mt. Karimui Area that to be submitted to SGP for NSC screening for full funding. The NGO and CBO are to mobilise more funds for this initiative apart from planned proposal to SGP

Notable Community Participation
The project has been already initiated since 2002 and communities are participating. The NGO / CBO is now asking for financial support to make it more formal interms of reaching the status of WMA by taking it through the legal process, gazzettal etc.

Policy Impact
It will surely have policy impact of that locally where the land area will be protected as WMA area
