Project Details & Results
Himalayan herbal doctor "Amchi" have been contributing significantly to the health care system of remote mountain communities in the Himalaya region. In many parts of Nepal. amchi are the sole providers of health care. However, despite the great benefit that comes from amchi, medicine, this system is under threat in Nepal. The younger generation is having a difficult time sustaining this practice amidst changing social, economical and cultural circumtances. The project aims for conservatin, cultivation and sustainable utilization of medicinal plants, support amchi clinical and educational institutions and promote networking and collaboration for marketing and income generation.
