This planning grant 1) enhances the degree and the quality of community and stakeholder participation in the project design and development, 2) provides the grantee with access to relevant scientific and technical expertise to ensure that the project has a sound scientific and technical foundation, 3) provides access to technical assistance in sound project design and development
Capacity - Building Component
This planning grant will strengthen the grantee's capacity to develop project proposals by means of direct participation in the process of designing the project document.
Project Results
The grant allowed the grantee attract necessary expertise and develop the project in accordance with the GEF SGP criteria and requirements. The full grant was approved for the developed project proposal at the NSC meeting on 19th of December 1997.
