Project Details & Results
In Tafileh governorate, south of the country, Bseira Charity Society will implement the “Agro-biodiversity Protection and Soil Conservation in Bseira/ Tafileh Governorate” which will contribute to the protection of the special ecosystem of Bseira which is part of the fragile arid and semi-arid ecosystem of the Mediterranean, with special focus on agro-biodiversity and sustainable land management. The project will support rehabilitation of abandoned orchards and protection of springs as well as support a program for rangeland alternative resources through planting forage plants, and enhance public awareness of the importance of natural resources and sustainable agricultural productivity.
Notable Community Participation
The local community will participate in the implementation of project activities through its participation in the management committee. The target groups will contribute financially to provide for development and future maintenance. The target groups will participate in the actual implementation of project activities.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
The project will improve the agricultural productivity of lands in Bseira and will therefore contribute to community livelihood.
Inovative Financial Mechanisms
Part of the project activities will be managed through a revolving fund, which will contribute to the sustainability of the project and the widening of beneficiary base.
