Characterization of biodiversity of shepherd dog Sharplaninec, its dispersion and reintroduction in the rural areas of breed and breeders in Polog Region (replication)
Following the great success of the project that achieved 10 pedigry kennels of dog Sharplaninec, and great interest among the owners of sheep, goats and cattle and a large number of individual owners, NGOs and farmers (In fact, many people called with a request to donate to them are purebred Sharplaninec and shape new farms of purebred dogs) the NGO is replicating the same activities in different area of Macedonia.
In the past sharplaninec dogs proved that they were born to guard the buildings and property, flocks from predators (fox, wolf, bear). Within the last project was shown to the dog sharplaninec born in a kennel in the city can adapt and adjust to the conditions in sheep, goat and cattle farms to the point to think that is how born there, which means it has acquired instinct for guard regardless of herds in previously it has been treated. This hopefully a major contribution to the standardization of the race termination of crossing dogs and a good start to preserve the authenticity of this breed Sharplaninec and retention of biodiversity in the country.
In the project with the same title last operational program SGP included 2 regions where the donated dogs Sharplaninec, and now the idea is to include three new regions where there is great interest in accepting Sharplaninec and there are conditions for it. Therefore we would like to perform the project in the Polog region, the Southeast and the Eastern region of the Republic of Macedonia where not represented sufficiently sharplaninec dogs in animal breeding farms and where the region responsible for such a purpose. This would be contributed to the spread of racial and other regions, especially the spread in its natural habitat of living.
