Harro Tetesa Community Based Land Use and Resource Management Project
This project aims organizing awareness creation sessions for all the re-settlers to internalize the problem of land and environmental degradation and to seek solution; render seed and technical assistance to farmers to develop private nursery sites; prepare hand-dug wells to manage water scarcity for human and animal consumption and for watering their newly planted trees, fruits, and vegetables; access farmers to plant 1 million fast growing and environment friendly trees, fruits, and vegetables as wind breaks at farm land and in their homestead for their food, construction and energy needs as well as conservation and economic purposes; encourage and support the community to plant fruit and crop trees in their homestead for personal needs to divert their deforestation activities and to transfer the area in to ?echo-cultural villages?.

Gender Focus
Arrangement of small loan schemes for animal husbandry to poor and landless women and benefit them from the sell of sheep and goat, organized needy women groups and provide technical and financial supports to produce fuel saving stoves and thereby started using good quality fuel saving stoves and generated income that improved their livelihood.
Capacity - Building Component
As an integral part of implementation, the project will try to improve the present land use planning and management practices at grass root level by building the planning, management and problem solving capacity of the resettlement community.
