The Committee for the Protection of Kasab Forests (CPKF) was formed from the inhabitants of Kasab, with the notion of working hard in order to protect their environment. In light of this, the Committee held a number of meetings with the local communities along with the concerned authorities in an attempt to assess the environmental conservation measures that need to be undertaken. The most insisting need that appeared on the surface was the establishment of an environmental facility with a number of functions that would attract the friends of the environment, ensure community participation in environmental protection, and generate income to ensure its sustainability. The proposed project contains a number of environmental activities that would involve and benefit the different stakeholders there, through conserving the environement which is seen as a source of livelihood for local community, creating job opportunities, and increasing awareness about the importance of the region
