Project background:

The small SGP project (SGP IRA-OP3-2-07-16 (87)) and its local fund model has already created impact in the area as the head of the Agricultural Bank noted that if this work had started earlier, the Golestan floods would have been prevented. The project is replicated by the government in 4 villages and this project is for continuing our work in the area and participating in the upscaling and documenting the lessons.

At the final project workshop of SGP IRA-OP3-2-07-16 (87) which was conducted in the Natural Resource Organization and Watershed Management of Semnan Province for promoting community pasture management and participatory approaches for pasture land management, the women villagers of upstream of Seman and Golestan provinces, authorities including the Head and the Deputy of the Organization, the Head of Agricultural Bank, Nardein villagers and locals from other SGP projects like representatives of Rameh Women Group of Beekeepers were the key participants.


Project activities and outputs are:


?Alternative livelihood fund for pasture management in 4 other villages (2,500 per each village)

?Monitoring the rotation alternative livelihood fund for pasture work, working with the stakeholders and reporting ($4,000)

?Documentation and translation (including a book under preparation on the learnings of pasture management, the process and the role of facilitation ($3,000)

?Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation ($1,000)
