Project Description:
Mgazini lies 36 miles in the south of Songea Town. The current population is 4,000 acording to the 2002 national census. Majority of the inhabitants are farmers. There are to primary schools, one secondary school, one health centre and one village bank. The people of Mgazini economically depends on Agriculture. The depend on water which they get from placed to allow enough collection safe water for the growing population.

The government intention is to develop a water supply scheme in the village for the aim of improving the water quality and quantity and also improve the health of the community. But the key problem for fulfilling this objective is lack of funds. In order to improve the condition of water supply for people of Mgazini the proposal made involve the pipeline extension from the water suource to Mgazini whereby facilities will be connected with supply line of 4 inch. that will be connected with various distribution lines in order to serve the community. The present line that supplies water is small, old and unreliable.

Project Objective
- To introduce piped water to the 4,000 people of Mgazini
- To reduce the workload of women and children in fetching water long distances
To strengthen the health of the villagers bu using safe water
To develop sense of ownership of the project within community
