- Installed the Permaculture Demonstration and Research Farm for Lao Upland Farming with scale of one hectare and growing different types of local plants including vegetables, fruit trees, medicinal plants, herbs and flowers;
- Dug a pond in the middle of the farm to store and contain water in the rainy season to be used in the dry season to decrease pumping water for irrigation which is a sustainable way of farming;
- Installed a bio-charcoal demonstration area, to demonstrate to farmers what they can do when they cut the trees or trees die on the farm. Normally, they bring them directly to use for fire in house cooking but in a bio-charcoal system they burn them in the preparation area and make charcoal for cooking. The liquid by-product from burning can be used as a natural pesticide. This prevents the need to buy and use dangerous chemical fertilizers. In the farm we also taught and demonstrated how to make natural compost by using green-dry wastes from the farm and green wastes from kitchen to make a bio extract liquid to stimulate growing of plants in the farm and additional benefits. These are long term sustainable ways of farming without chemical fertilizers;
- Printed 1.500 copies of the first edition of a permaculture manual in Laos. These manuals were distributed to all trainees/farmers to take home after each training. They were also distributed to local NGOs, Universities, Agriculture colleges and local farmers who are interested to start with this sustainable farming technique;

For the communities and the environment: Improved farming yields through permaculture results in less stress on the forest biodiversity, and better livelihoods for the farmers through climate-smart innovative agro-ecology. Permaculture integrates traditional culture and behaviours with up to date agricultural techniques to maximize yield and production in the most eco-friendly way. It is especially suitable for small-scale landholders in difficult land situations and integrates livestock and recycling techniques to maximize crop-yield with proper watershed management;
