Preliminary study on the establishment of buffer zone to west Bali National Park in Sumber Klampok village
Project goal:
Supporting the natural conservation efforts by the villagers around Taman National Park through developing alternative income generating activities.
Project objective :
1. To establish a clear map and position of national park and surrounding villages;
2. To set up a clear boders between national park and villages, coordinating with the Management of Bali Barat National Park
3. To identify an effective utilization of the national park for adjacent villages;
4. To disseminate the study to the community in order to draw their participation;
5. To conduct a study on proposing the establishment of national park buffer zone.
6. To set up a demoplot of alternative income generating that suitable to be implemented
Activities to be carried out under the project :
1. Preparation.
a) Field survey;
b) Inventarisation on potential biodiversity for buffer zone;
c) Socialisation of the study to the community;
2. Local training and education in the field.
a) Mapping techniques;
b) Biodiversity identification.
3. Outreach Approach.
a) Establishment of maps;
b) Networking with informal and formal leaders, including related goverment institution eg. national park management
c) Dissemination of the success result of demoplot
4. Technical Assistance.
a) Mapping techniques;
b) Study preparation.
c) Developing alternative income generating activities
5. Evaluation and Reporting.
Project Participants and/or beneficiaries :
1. Kelompok Usaha Bersama, Desa Sumber Klampok.
2. Community of Sumber Klampok village; Sumber Batok; Tegal Bunder, West Bali National Park, Buleleng, Bali.
Anticipated result of project :
1. Maps of the study area to be established;
2. List of potential local biodiversity production to be provided.
