Sustainable management of marine turtles through protection of poaching and fallout of unsustainable fishing in north Lebanon including the Palm Islands Nature Reserve
EPC, in cooperation with Palm Islands Reserve, and relevant ministries and all stakeholders will organize an awareness and training program to monitor and protect turtles in North Lebanon and especially in Palm Islands areas. The program includes monitoring of environmental indicators and impact of pollution and others pressures resulting from human practices. As well as the monitoring of marine turtle habitats and putting signs and guidelines for their protection on the Mediterranean environmental map to integrate this program with the efforts of protected areas, institutions and programs mentioned above. This program will have a positive impact on the sustainable development of the region and will make a qualitative change in the misconceptions and establish a new concept and behavior among the people of the region to preserve and protect sea turtles.
