*Note: Originally PLW/SGP/OP6/Y5/STAR/2019/02
To foster stewards of the environment by connecting students to nature through outdoor and hands-on activities that teach them about the marine environment, impact of cliate change and tourism, and steps students can take to be proactive, engaged citizens in conservation. Building on young children?s innate curiousity and enthusiasm to do good, the program will reach all 6th grade students (ages 11-13 years old) nationwide to help nurture informed and engaged youth members of the community who understand ecological concepts and environmental issues. 1) Connect 6th grade students (ages 11-13 years old) to nature utilizing Jellyfish Lake as a learning environment; (2) Knowledge sharing: Students share with peers and community what they have learned to raise awareness on Jellyfish Lake and environmental issues; and (3) Students will gain confidence in addressing environmental issues with policy makers.
