Tradição e Desenvolvimento Socioambiental: A farinhada no assentamento Salobro, gerando vida e sustentabilidade
The Project aims to strengthen cassava production by adapting the flour and starch manufacturing system, through the implementation of a flour house, with industrial and other traditional equipment with the aim of promoting the processing of cassava in a quality product for consumption and commercialization, generating income for producing families; take advantage of cassava by-products to feed animals through the construction and structuring of free-range pig breeding space; implementation of an equipped kitchen attached to the flour mill to facilitate women's work in preparing meals and better organization of the time of women who work in the flour mill; the project provides training for young people and women, exchanges and a field day to learn about the production area using more sustainable and agroecological techniques; The budget foresees the hiring of a technician to monitor the project during the 24 months, with his work organized and planned on a daily basis, facilitating his remuneration.

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
? Encourage increased production and cultivation of cassava; ? Increase family income through the sale of cassava products; ? Use cassava by-products to feed animals; ? Adjust the quality of flour and starch for the local market; ? Encourage the participation of young people, with the support of adults and the elderly, in the flour and starch production process; ? Use clean energy in the Settlement?s production systems; ? Improve women's working conditions during the flour production period, as well as generating income with the continuous operation of the site with the processing of family farming products.
Capacity - Building Component
? Gum extraction workshop ? women dough washers ? assistance with other farmers with experience in gum extraction; ? Exchange at a flour mill that already works, to exchange experiences ? cassava producers ? 18 people will participate. ? Workshop for learning and handling flour mill equipment ? all beneficiaries ? advice from a farmer with experience in handling this equipment. ? Culinary capacity building on products derived from family farming ? 20 women from the community ? course taught by a cook who knows how to make cake, peta, homemade sweets. ? Workshop on the practice of crop consortium and organic coverage to reduce the effects of droughts caused by climate change and recovery of areas degraded by cassava cultivation ? community farmers ? agroforestry technician, hired on an hourly basis. ? Workshop for preparing animal feed with reuse of cassava by-products ? 20 people representing families who raise small animals - assistance from Ecoescola Thomas a Kempis. ? Field day on cassava production with agroecological practices ? for all farmers in the community ? in a production area experienced in agroecological practices.
