The use of medicinal herbs for curing ailments and neutralizing poisons is practiced rarely at present.
People are not aware of their uses and value.
Objectives, activities
Create awareness among students, teachers and the public on environmental issues to work towards bio diversity conservation, involve students and their communities in building a better eco system in their schools and homes.
Conserve bio diversity of medicinal plants in the area,
Establish a herbal garden in the school premises.
The school children to collect seeds and plants and grow them in the garden with the assistance of a teacher.
Raise awareness among students by circulation of leaflets, by conducting seminars.
Groups involved
Students of Jaffna Hindu College.
