Bunda Teachers' Training College, Bunda
Public institutions specifically schools, prisons and army camps are blamed as greatest sources of deforestation in the country. This is due to their large levels of fuelwood consumption. Environment activists believe that deforestation that is attributed to fuelwood use will be reduced if public institutions switched to fuelwood saving technologies such as biogas, solar and fuelwood efficient cookstoves. Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Both components of the project address Global environment. Fuel efficient cookstoves reduce emission of carbon dioxide while energy farms provide carbon sink. Therefore, the project will be used to promote public awareness on global environment.

Financing arrangement was provided by two partners, GEF/SGP (75%) and the college (25%).
