Increasing public awareness about POPs among the people by the example of chemical-waste disposal that placed in Suzak region, Kyzyltu ayil okmotu, Boston village
The need for such project to be conducted and implemented in this region is the condition of the tailing pits. Most of them have lost their safety surface and have been constantly interupted by local residents. These interventions are highly hazardous and create a great concern for the safety of the cicitzens. This project aims to increase awareness on the effect that these actions can cause for the health and general condition of this area.
During the course of the project the NGO plans to conduct three round tables and sixteen seminars on Persistent Organinc Pollutants to achieve better awareness. The seminars are intended to increase the awareness and educate about the POP. The special committee will be created to manage this project. Also 300 broshures, 1000 booklets and 1000 posters are going to be published to inform people about POP. The tailing pits are going to be fenced by barbed wire. To measure the condition of the sight the laboratory analyses of land and water are going to be conducted. The destroyed coating and the conteminated land are going to be restored. Project managers understand the need to provide alternative ware and support the project with wide information campaign.
