Introduction of the nature protection regime in some plots of Barskoon Ayil Okmet territory in order to preserve the landscapes containing globally important species of plants, animals and strengthen the capacity for ecotourism development.
The need for such project arose due to the careless attitude towards environment by the local population. There is a mass trees and bush cutting. The region could be a great attraction for the tourist but due to the lack of awareness about environmental issues there a great damage to this territory. The NGO is taking actions to preserve this area. 1. Conduction of project introductory seminar (increasing awareness of local population and local authorities about global environment concerns and project links to the concerns)
2. Conduction of biodiversity inventory in the selected places
3. Exploring possibilities for development of ecological tourism
4.Feasibility study to balance protective measures, biodiversity conservation and development of ecological tourism
5. Planning of ecological tourism:
? round tables with environment protection institutions, local authorities, local population and tourism sphere representatives
? training seminars for focus group ( population living near the protected plots and and participating in potential and actual ecological activities)
? design of ecological tourism development plan
6. Organization of protected zone
? Design of set of protective measures (caution signs, time limitations, turnpikes, community patrols)
? Facilitation of approval protective measures and declaration of protection zone by national and level authorities

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
Brushwood collecting and branch cutting let to reduce expenses on coal purchasing. Saplings selling from nursery give opportunity to receive additional income for its further supporting.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
During training actions and information campaign it will be emphasized, that rehabilitation of former wood and bush vegetation, containing Red Book species is the direct contribution to preservation of global biodiversity.
