PROJECTO DE INTERVENÇÃO NA ÁREA DE LEI DE TERRA E AMBIENTE SOBRE O RISCO DE DEGRADAÇÃO, DISTRITO DO LAGO NIASSA
The project that aims to raise environmental awareness in the areas of land tenure, environmental law and natural resources management in Lago district, through advocacy campaigns; the region is a hotspot with a high biodiversity richness with many endemic species of Lake Niassa/Malawi and a variety of wildlife species in regions forest patches, its also a transition zone towards the Niassa Game Reserve; although the region is not densely populated most of the effects of land degradation and pollution are caused by illegal gold mine diggers, logging, uncontrolled bushfires and extensive farming; the project will limit these destructive practices and promote sustainable resource use while enabling set up of collaborative management committees.
