Protection and maintainable use of the autochthonous domestic bull (Busha) in the region of Ograzden
Protection and maintainable use of the autochthonous domestic bull (Busha) in the region of Ograzden
The territory of Municipality Novo Selo occupies a great part of the mountain Ograzden, which mountain is abundant with a huge variety of animal, plant and endemic species. There are four villages in this part of the mountain Ograzden (Stinik, Barbarevo, Bajkovo and Badilen) whose inhabitants exist only from breeding cattle. In this part of the mountain Ograzden the rare kind of ox (Busha) can still be found, as ideal kind of ox to be bred in these regions. Unfortunately, the number of this kind of ox decreases from day to day and there is the real danger that it will disappear completely in the near future. Because of that, it is necessary to take measures for protection and reproduction of this kind of ox in order to survive, and at the same time it would stop the emigration of people from these mountain villages. The realization of this project will have results in the protection and reproduction of the rare kind of ox (Busha) in this region, which region is under the protection of biological variety of the focal areas of SGP.
