Methodologies and techniques for energy efficiency in four buildings in Municipality of Radovis
In Republic of Macedonia the main energy source (almost 80%) is produced by conventional thermo plants. This project targets 4 buildings in Municipality of Radovis (3 buildings of the Children kindergarten and one is the Municipal administration building, all built 20-30 years ago, and all with high heating and lightening consumption hence high cost 50.000$ per year. This project aims to reduce the energy consumption and CO2 production by 15%. This will be achieved through:
1. Preparation a study report about energy consumption in general in Municipality of Radovis
2. Preparation of report about the energy consumption of the four building targeted in this project, and prepration of ToR for energy saving in the buildings
3. Reconstruction of the four buildings and instalment of energy efficiency elements in four buildins.
4. Direct energy savings by 15%
5. Indirect CO2 reduction by 15%
6. Raised public awaranes about unrational energy consumption, releasing CO2 into atmosphere and impact of Climate.

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
Based on the assessment of the existing condition of energy consumption in the buildings, a range of energy-efficient measures were undertaken: reconstruction, isolation and replacement of old wooden windows & external doors with new & replacing old with energy efficient bulbs: 223 energy efficient light bulbs in buildings & 80 streets lights, Preliminary results of the implemented measures show that the annual 129 t of CO2 production had been cut by 88 t of CO2, thus making difference of 41 t of CO2.
