Community Based Land Management Project to protect farmland through restoration programs with suitable land management techniques for better land management and agricultural products for sustainable livelihood in Lumang, Trashigang
Three villages such as Moshi, Tshogonpa, Khesing under Lumang Geog in Trashigang district face severe landslides. These villages are located on steep slopes and farming on the steep slopes have been difficult for them.

Through this project, the village communities, aim to ensure soil conservation ad assist in preservation of the agricultural land from being washed away, and protect farmlands through restoration programs with suitable management interventions and techniques and be the future champions of soil conservation not only in the community, but also, in the neighboring geogs.

The objectives of the project are:
1. To mitigate landslides;
2. To ensure soil conservation;
3. To promote land management practices;
4. To develop the skills of local communities for enhanced income generation.

Activities of the project includes the following:
1. Awareness raising workshop/capacity development for 90 households;
2. Site preparation (digging of pits and refilling them);
3. Planting and staking (as above);
4. Weeding and pruning
6. Harvesting;
7. Plantation;
8. Project Evaluation
