Sans Souci Climate Change Adaptation Pilot Project, Improving the Resilience of the Community
The Sans Souci Climate Change Adaptation project is aimed at increasing the resilience of the community to better respond to climate change events while ensuring the protection of the Natural Resources. The objectives are to decrease the level of vulnerability to sea level rise, land-slides and increase the level of knowledge associated with climate change within the community. The project also focuses on strengthening the capacity of the Sans Souci Wildlife and Tourism Development group to respond effectively and efficiently to disasters in the area.
The project aims to measure the changes in the vulnerability of the project site to the climate risk identified in the VRA exercises. It will focus on improving the environmental condition such as reforestation, training of a response team, having emergency food supply and other approaches that will reduce the climate vulnerability impact.
