Mainstreaming innovative agro-ecology practices on steppe landscape for the benefit of local communities
The project aims at demonstrating the use of modern techniques of agro-ecology at different levels of agriculture as well as disseminating awareness in rural communities on this issue. The project applies the experimental methods of agro-ecology via field studies.
The objectives of the project include:
- agro-ecology techniques exploring and applying their practices in certain steppe landscape with further recommendations on the establishment of demonstration plots;
- practical work to create demonstration plots for growing crops with the use of agroecological techniques;
- creating of knowledge management products for dissemination of practical information among farmers and rural communities engaged in growing agricultural crops;
- raising the community awareness on global environmental problems and drawing public attention to the activities of the GEF SGP in Ukraine by providing mass media with publications and disseminating the information on developed site, created in the frameworks of the project.

Inovative Financial Mechanisms
In order to disseminate the experience of using modern agroecological technologies, the Methodological guidelines on the use of agroecology in farms (500 copies) were developed and shared among farmers and community of the region, in particular through the networks and capacities of the Ukrainian Women Farmers Council.
