CO2 reduction as a result of the replacement of the street lighting
CO2 reduction as a result of the replacement of the street lighting
Municipality of Vasilevo is one of the many municipalities that still use many conventional street lamps. These lamps produce emissions, primarily carbon, which all know what is its impact on the environment, and thus the quality of the life of the people. The second segment is the high energy consumption of conventional street lamps and expensive maintenance. This project offers new technology for the generation and storage of low-carbon energy, supplying of economical street lamps that through their use reduces greenhouse gases, generate new revenue through energy savings and dramatically reduces maintenance costs. The savings make the project self-sustaining, as well as many other advantages.
This project is in line with the central area "Climate Change" and meets the following criteria:
- is replicable (can be replicated and expanded);
- result in self-sufficiency (the saved funds from the reduced energy consumption);
- have a development component for capacity building of the association and the community (monitoring and evaluation);
- there is an educational component (workshops);
- there dissemination of information and experiences to other entities (press information to the media, etc.).
