Tatana, Baruni and Poreporena Solid Waste Project
This national NGO is undertaking to work with four coastal villages, located within vicinity of capital of Papua New Guinea, Port Moresby to train locals, develop management committees and help these four communities develop their local waste management strategy. They have established links with relevnt municipality and government agencies to undertake this task.
Due to lack of funds to cover operational overheads for the organization, change in management and inadequate staff numbers ot implement the project, by mutual agreement, the project was terminated.
The organization will be taking steps to remit remainder of firt tranch back to UNOPS. A total amount of K78,869.04 is expected for deposit. once funds are remitted, relevant paperwork to confirm this will be uploaded.
Funds were reimbursed to value of $21,607.96 (PGK78,689.04) in August 2019 and project closed.
