HOPE TOWN ZERO WASTE DEMONSTRATION PROJECT *Note: Originally BHS/SGP/OP6/CORE/CC/2017/44
The project will seek to set up a recycling system in the small remote rural community of Hope Town. Using used shipping pallets the community will construct an urban garden and composting, and recycling center for can and bottles generated by the community. The community will raise awareness through the creation of signs by students to be placed throughout the community and in addition by creation of public service announcements (PSA) on the local radio services. The community will make reusable shopping bags from recycled clothing materials and will have significant capacity building through thematic workshops designed around the theme of reduce, reuse, recycle.
