"Green Energy in Hissor"
Limitations energy supply in winter period, high energy cost causes tough condition for rural population and they as a result cutting down trees and shrubs which lead to the to the environmental issues. According to the Agency for forestry 47% of the population uses wood for energy and heating, the average annual rate of deforestation is 2%. Degradation of forest cover, soil erosion, heavy precipitation lead to more extensive development zones of mudflows and landslides. Taking all this into account Youth Ecological Center propose a project for improving the environment through more sustainable use of natural resources and creation of alternative livelihoods for local communities, enhancing the role of communities and young people in addressing local social and environmental problems.

Project Characteristics and Results
A plan of action for the Energy Committee will be drawn up and implemented in each village: • 3 photovoltaic (PV) stations with a capacity of 1 to 3 kW will be installed in high school, medical office, Women's Centre • for the development of women's business and farming 3 solar PV stations (1-3 kW) will be installed in the women's farming co-operative in the village of Beruni, women's sewing mini-workshops in the villages of Dehkanobad and Sodiqi • 20 small-scale demonstration energy sub-projects will be implemented at the household and community levels (establishment of a power bank, rental point of equipment operating on solar panels, 10 solar cookers) • an information campaign will be carried out with beneficiaries' interviews over the radio, a video podcast will be produced, case studies will be described and published in a brochure, a round table on the community's experience on managing energy resources and promoting RES and AES will be conducted
Capacity - Building Component
Energy needs will be assessed in 5 pilot villages. An Energy Committee will be established on the basis of the Women's Resource Centre in the village of Dehkanobad Training courses on RES and affordable energy technologies will be conducted at the local level for members of the Energy Committee, moderators and community activists from 5 villages.
