Managing waste and chemicals for community wealth creation and sustainable environmental management in Banda Nkwanta within the Black Volta Basin
The project seeks to build capacities of artisanal miners and local communities to reduce the use of mercury through the use of the vortex centrifugal method in gold amalgamation, reduce the release of POPs, ODS and other chemicals through improving the fuel plant developed for waste plastic to diesel/kerosene/gas generation to be environmentally friendly. The project will also conduct and share the findings of environmental and economic impact analysis for the plastic fuel and vortex plant.
