Promote the Use of Sufficient Energy Cooking Stove to Save Firewood for Sustainable Forestry Management
There are 7 target villages of Taoiy district, Salavanh province that are covered by Xesub conservation forest area. This conservation forest area is having many valuable forest resources to the eco-system, economic, tourism and livelihood of villagers. However, it is nearly extinct for instance various kinds of tree and rare wildlife animals. In previously, even though it has regulation to protect forest and wildlife animal of many projects, but it is being destroyed day by day due to anthropogenic activities because of challenging things to environment in this area is wooden use as firewood for cooking of villagers, they used a simple model stove which is wasting wooden a lot around 90%. Living with natural firewood is big impact to the forest area in Taoiy District due have to use the wooden in daily life and this is the main cause to forest becomes degradation. Moreover, the smoke from firewood stove has effect to health problem of villagers, especially women and children such as respiratory disease, which is the number one disease that kills the child in Taoiy district. Smoke from firewood is to increase global warming due to the greenhouse as well. Therefore, the aim of project is to help problem solving on the main forest destroy in target district and together with income generation to household of the villages by promote to produce the saving firewood stove, which is easy to make and cheap price, it can make by cement that will have lifetime using around 10 years. The project will be the model on produce and use the stove in 7 target villages, then will promote and expand the stove to cover all Taoiy district, which can reduce cutting down the tree around four thousand tons per year if this stove is being wildly used.
