Promote the Use of Sufficient Energy Cooking Stove to Save Firewood for Sustainable Forestry Management *Note: Originally LAO/SGP/OP6/Y3/STAR/LD&SFM/2018/46
There are 7 target villages of Taoiy district, Salavanh province that cover by Xesub conservation forest area. This conservation forest area is having many valuable of forest resource to the eco-system, economic, tourism and livelihood of villagers. However, it nearly extinct such as various kind of tree and rare wildlife animal. In previously, even though it has regulation to protect forest and wildlife animal from many project, but it’s keeping destroy day by day. The challenging things to environmental in this area is use of wooden as a firewood for cooking and villagers they used simple model stove which wasting wooden a lot around 90%. Living with natural firewood is big impact to the forest area in Taoiy District due to have to use wooden in daily life and this is the main causing to forest become degradation. Moreover, smoke from firewood stove is affects to health problems of villagers, especially women and children like respiratory disease, which is the number one disease that kill children’s in Taoiy district. Smoke from firewood is create form of gas in greenhouse as well. Therefore, the aim of project is to help problem solving on forest destroy in target district and together with generate income household to villagers by promote to produce the saving firewood stove which easy to make and low production cost, it can make by cement that will be lifetime using around 10 years. The project will be model on produce and use stove in 7 target village, then will promote and expand stove to cover all Taoiy district, which can reduce cutting down the tree around four thousand tons per year if this stove is being wildly use
