Sports and adventure tourism development in Stepanavan
Sports and adventure tourism development in Stepanavan
The project aims to enhance income-generating opportunities from tourism services through establishing a rope park and improving recreational facilities in forest areas of Stepanavan. The park will be created at the area adjacent to Stepanavan “Lore” Rescue Team NGO center, which is surrounded by pine forest. The rope park will be customized to different age groups and include a range of difficulty level obstacles. Parallel to creation of the rope park, it is envisaged to improve the recreation area by installing benches, information signboards and waste bins. The increasing number of park visitors will provide additional income to community members, who can sell their home-made products and host tourists in their houses. Through these activities, the project plans to demonstrate how “tree-friendly” activities can ensure local income generation and thus, reduce forest dependency of local population.
