Building Community Base Organisation capacity in Climate Change Project Development and Monitoring
Vanuatu is making a very slow progress economically. 75% of its population still randomly engaging in subsistent economy depending on natural resources for their survival. Local people continue to destructively extract resources, selling land for short term cash gaining. The local organisation based in communities whose activities are done by voluntarily and achieving results in a more effective ways are not always given opportunity to share their experiences into national development. The project is to build the capacity of the Community based organisation within the GEF SGP seascape areas for participating in delivering for environmental base results and assisting communities in their coping to climate change negative impacts.

Capacity building Contribution to the National sustainable Development goals for Vanuatu Policy Outcome 4: 4:7 Build capacity and support local communities to manage natural resources The Project developed 2 training modules and delivered the training within 2 provinces with Provincial planners community groups working with conservation and resource management to identifying institutional weaknesses and other gaps, and planned to address them through grass roots initiatives.
