Pass-it-On: Sustainable Model Garden Project
The geographical make-up of St. Vincent and its prevailing climatic conditions, high dependence on natural resources, and limited capacity to adapt to a changing climate and climate change are having an adverse effect on the country's food security, compounding existing poverty conditions and constraining economic growth.

This project seeks to address some of the effects of climate change by:

1. Facilitating the building of a foundation of knowledge and practice and enhance leadership and entrepreneurial skills at the community level by developing the capacity in climate smart technologies for agricultural management and production within the model garden through the effective recruitment, selection and training of thirty (30) vulnerable families.

2. Promote and develop excellence in agricultural technologies among community members and create an awareness of the need to adopt and implement these technologies in order to contribute to climate resilient agricultural development by exposing thirty (30) vulnerable families in the community to climate SMART Agricultural practices.

3. Promote healthy eating and food nutrition security among vulnerable families in the community and beyond by producing and making available a constant supply of good quality vegetables, root crops, fruits and fruit products.

4. Promote information exchange and best practices in climate smart agriculture through the establishment of an institutional mechanism for knowledge transfer to other vulnerable families within the area and beyond and provide other vulnerable families with knowledge and understanding of viable options in agriculture utilizing modern innovative technology.
