The Establishment of a fully functioning Climate Smart Farm Producing Organic Outputs at La Resource, Vieux-Fort, St. Lucia..
This demonstration project is a multi-focal area project submitted by the first Faith Based Organisation in Saint Lucia. The project?s goal is: ?to transform our school community into an Integrated Sustainable Development System which empowers students, teachers and parents in a world affected by climate change?. The objectives are: ?(i) to establish a climate smart farm which is resilient and produces organic outputs for the school community within the first six months of the project; (ii) to establish a cost effective security monitoring structure and system which is a deterrent to thieves within the first four months of the project; (iii) to improve the school?s curriculum by integrating organic principles and practices for continuous learning and development by the end of the project; (iv) to use tested methods which will gradually shift our community?s food choice to a more organic and nutritional diet by the end of the project; (v) to establish a viable business enterprise based on farm outputs and community inputs to serve our community by the end of the project (12 months of the project); and to establish a monitoring and evaluation system to enable continuous improvement and learning?.
