Reducing the Carbon Footprint of Honey Processing through Solarisation, Grace, Vieux Fort.
This project will help the grantee to fully develop an agro-processing plant for honey production, reduce the average cost of production and significantly decrease the carbon footprint of the plant to or near zero. The objectives are: (i) to design, procure and install a 5 Kwh solar system that is tied to the grid and fully functional within 4 months of project commencement; (ii) to increase honey storage capacity within 4 months of commencement of the project, including the completion of the bee products processing and packaging facility; and (iii) to increase the capability of the group in Record Keeping and Report Writing.
Once completed this processing plant will be the first in the South of the island, in the Northern Hills of Vieux Fort.
