"Promoting economic empowerment and strengthening the capacity of women with disabilities to adapt to climate change in Wuli".
"Promoting economic empowerment and strengthening the capacity of women with disabilities to adapt to climate change in Wuli".
The project aims to work with persons of disabilities specifically women to address climate change issues that affect their livelihoods. Most disable women in Wuli East and Wuli West cannot read or write and as such find it difficult to understand climate messages written. As such they can’t take precautionary measures towards climate change effects.
The plights of persons with disabilities especially women are in most cases ignored and not considered in climate change programs. As such they continue to remain side line in relevant matters that even affect their lives.
Persons with disabilities mainly the three major disabilities identified in the Upper River Region North that is visual impairments, physical disabilities and hearing Impairments needs innovative ways to communicate climate information and knowledge to them.
As such the project will use the creative arts, theatre and music, by persons with disabilities themselves to promote awareness on issues related Climate Change and the environment.
