project is proposed to be implemented at Burqa Danbal Kebele 142 south of Addis Ababa at Dugda Woreda, east Shoa Zone, Oromia Regional State. The site is in the northern side of Lake Batu about 12 km south-east of Meki town. The area is dry land with marginal rainfall (either coming late or terminating early) often the cause for crop failure. The target communities base their livelihoods on agriculture (grow crops and rear livestock)
