This project focuses on creating enabling conditions to empower these region 1 indigenous stakeholders to become environmental stewards to conserve, monitor and co-manage the area, in collaboration with the relevant government agencies whilst benefiting from their natural resources.

- Men and women play traditional roles in the target communities. There are a small percentage of women who have small businesses. This project will ensure the equal and integral participation of women. Women were consulted in every aspect of the project. They are beneficiaries in every activity and will participate in all capacity building ,alternative livelihoods training.
