- Yes: Working towards the establishment of the Barima -Mora passage mangrove area as a protected area. -Complement the Government?s efforts such as the current revision of the Mangrove Management Action Plan and its broadening of the LCDS to include Biodiversity, Watersheds and the Blue Economy, all of which are very relevant to the area.

-Collection and monetization of environmental data. -Building of capacity though training in local eco-tourism and hospitality for local eco-tourism( backward and forward linkages ( tour guides, cooks, drivers etc.) -Building of capacity in data collection, natural resources monitoring and management and synergies with international researchers to support the commissioning of local researchers and data collectors

-Educate 64 men, women and children in 3 communities through a participatory community learning process on a) the ecosystem services provided by mangrove forests; b) the challenges and threats facing mangrove forests; and c) sustainable opportunities which exist for communities. -Establish a social media presence to share information on the research center and its activities and achievements, through the creation of 1 Facebook page and 1 Instagram account for the Barima-Mora Passage -Develop a contact database of the target audience to create exchange programmes with academic institutions

The project targets the building of capacity of youth in natural resources management for the Barima -Mora passage mangrove area in region 1.These trainings includes: - Collect data for environmental baseline studies on at least six International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species; jaguar, puma, white-lipped peccaries, lowland tapir, black curassow and grey-winged trumpeters, using camera traps, interviews, and photo documentation inside the Barima-Mora Passage mangrove. -Record, analyse, verify, and process data from environmental baseline studies, and continuously collect additional data as needed. -Trained in using drones to monitor the mangroves.
