Supporting the sustainable development of Sarcandra glabra for improving immune health and livelihoods in Thai communities, Thanh Lam commune, Ba Thuoc district, Thanh Hoa province
The project aims to achieve multi-objectives for vulnerable ethnic communities by developing indigenous medicinal plant resources – forest wolves (Sarcandra glabra)- to improve community-based immunity, livelihoods, poverty eradication, proactive response to potential epidemic risks, conservation and sustainable development of biodiversity of medicinal plant gene sources, and protection of environmental resources.

The following activities will be implemented:
- Supporting local communities to cultivate wolf trees (Sarcandra glabra) in their gardens and in the forest, contributing to improving livelihoods for Thai ethnic minorities in Thanh Lam commune, Ba Thuy district;
- Establishing a good practice for the local people to use wolf tree leaf medicinal herbs as daily drinks to improve immune health based on indigenous medicinal plant resources;
- Piloting, then replicating the model of developing indigenous medicinal plants (forest wolves) in order to improve livelihoods and immune health, proactively responding to impacts of the epidemic on mountainous communities.
