The project was designed for the protection of the region from an increase of water salinity and prevention from desertification due to intensive (culture maraichaire) and use of chimical fertilizers. The project aims to increase the revene of local population through the introduction of of new cultivation and various rearing activities. This kind of action will also releive the pressure on soil utilization. The project includes also monitoring of soil salinity
