UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY ENERGY PROJECT TO EXPERIMENT THE POTENTIAL OF DEVELOPING COCONUT OIL AS A BIO ENERGY FUEL AND ALTERNATE TO CARBON FUEL IN PAPUA NEW GUINEA
The proponent will develop the process to produce biodiesel out of coconut oil as an alternate fuel to carbon fuel. The project will involve research to identify the opportunity to create another market demand for coconut farmers by adding value to the raw product. The biodiesel will be a subsitute fuel for diesel engine motor vehicles, is renewable and is environmentally friendly and will be the first of its kind in the country if the project is successful.

The project will include the alot of scientific research, analysis and demonstrations and a wider consultation to meet the standard requirements to produce the biodiesel and market it.

The project if successfully completed will be the success project under OP3.
