All Projects supported by Small Grants Programs have actively promoted the participation in the planning, implementation and management of the end-users.
Mr. Ismael Antonio Sánches
SGP National Steering Committee, El Salvador
Chief of Energetic Sciences Department, José Simeon Cañas Central American University

What has been the most significant contribution of the National Steering Committee (NSC)?

"I consider that the most significant contribution of the NSC (as a group) is to identify, select and support those projects that will have great impact and achieve positive results at local level so that this experience can be considered as a pilot project to be replicated at the national level either by the government institutions, NGO´s or private institutions and other key actors.

This strategy is enhanced by systematically documenting and disseminating the effectiveness of these projects."

In your view, what is the most unique aspect of SGP?

"All Projects supported by Small Grants Programs have actively promoted the participation in the planning, implementation and management of the end-users. The participatory approach will duly respect and seek to make use of local knowledge and traditions by involving local communities members."
