Environmental benefits: the project leaves a highly positive impact on the sea and marine environment throughout providing sufficient supply of environmentally-sound fishing facilities and fishing support equipment, fishing nets and fishing suites for the fishermen in southern area of Gaza Strip. This activity facilitating technology transfer to fishing sector and members of the fishing community in general..
The fishermen started not use the poisoning method, use of small explosives and destructive method of net pulling.


Capacity building capacity building to 150 fishermen through conducting training and awareness programme the in the southern area of Gaza strip. The training and awareness programme aimed to draw the fishermen attention to the harmful impact of the ongoing fishing practices such as poisoning methods, use of small explosives and the destructive method of net-pulling.
Hence, the project aimed at educating the local fishing community of the terrible dangers of the practice of Net-Pulling which means over-fishing and hence endangering the fishing habitat in addition to threatening marine biodiversity and sustainability.

Economical benefits: Increase the level of the socioeconomic level of the fishing community by increasing the income of the fishermen by 500 NIS per month

Networking: collecting sufficient information on fishery sector and marine environmental problem facing Gaza Strip coastal and sea water. In addition, this activity established an effective partnership and networking of sharing information with governmental and non-governmental institutes for the sake of disseminating latest knowledge on fishery sector and marine environment.
Established and launching specialized marine website to disseminate accurate information on fishery sector in Gaza, marine environment, coastal degradation?etc. . This activity will assist institutions and specialized individuals to acquire the necessary knowledge and fostering marine education for all.
