Small scale fish farming in 3 Caprivian conservancies
Small scale fish farming in 3 Caprivian conservancies
Inland fisheries makes an important contribution to rural livelihoods in many developing countries worldwide and Namibia is no exception, more so, with the noticeable negative correlation between the demand for fish particularly in the Caprivi region and the perceived over fishing in the Caprivian rivers and floodplains.
The proponents of this project seek the development of a comprehensive planning proposal which will culminate into a fully fledged Small Scale fish farming venture to be piloted in 3 Caprivian conservancies. A planning grant amounting to U$ 2000 was awarded and the submission of the detailed project proposal including environmental impact assessments (EIA) is still pending.
