Constructing National Park & Research Center
The NGO established a demonstration site for research and forest management and desertification control, in a semi-arid area north east of Amman, involving the local community and school children from different areas of the country. The site was provided the Ministry of Agriculture which delegated the NGO the task of protecting the area and using it for demonstrating sound practices for land management and biodiversity protection.
Some job opportunities were provided to local community members over the lifetime of the project. Schools and local community members also participated in project activities. The public awareness component of the project was very active stressing issues of global environmenatl importance.
