Rehabilitation of Eroded Forest in Senfha
The proponent protected eroded forest land in Senfha/ Tafileh through integration of forest and range land management practices and involved the local community in that effort through awareness activities and participation in local environmental activities.
Women and school children participated in project activities. Many school visits were conducted to the site promoting sound soil conservation measures and biodiversity protection.
Awareness of global environmental concerns in a remote area of the country was achieved through direct participation in project public awareness activities and through working on the site.
A few years after this project was completed, the local NGO, which at the time of this project was working with direct supervision from a larger NGO in Tafileh governorate, submitted another project proposal to the SGP to support various activities on the local community level that would contribute to the sound management of agricultural lands in the area and would promote community livelihood.
